Designed in a Neo-Baroque style by Gabriel Davioud, a 19th century architect who worked with Baron Haussmann and whose most notable works include the Fontaine Saint-Michel, the Théâtre de la Ville, the Théâtre du Châtelet and the former Palais du Trocadéro, the hotel is regarded as one of the architectural masterpieces of its time.

The location was great - easy access to a subway stop. The room was very comfortable and clean and up to the US standards.

telephone was most of the time remain out of order so it was difficult to contact directly to room service, house keeping and laudary. All the time I had to call reception and they conveyed to service and it took long to get the service. There was no water in mini bar nor ay complimentary drinkng water as normally hotel give one bottle a day free to guest.

A parking is located in back of the hotel. It costs about 20EUR/night. The space is not so big as usual in Paris.

Friendliness of staff, location, level of service

I had a room with windows facing the Place de Republique - the windows could be more soundproof, as it was slightly noisy, especially in the night. It would increase our comfort, but it wasn't unbearable. I would gladly select the same hotel next time.

Close to the subway, very close to the city center, nice room, very clean.

Internet should be free... we're no long living in the XX century and the price charged is ridiculously high...

The receptionist asked me to pay 7 EU more for my stay without any explanation. He said that the hotel forgot to charge me 7 EU. He couldn’t explain that in English properly. I had paid by a credit card before so I was surprised why the hotel charged me without the reason.

Very poor service especially in the bar. 10 of us wanted to order some drinks and we were ignored for 10 minutes after which time we left to go elsewhere. My parents wanted to have breakfast the next morning and after being shown to a table they went to get sopme tea and when they returned to their table it had been given to another couple. Just not good enough. Stay again-NO
